Wence, Bill, Songs That Make Me Think About You

Bill Wence grew up in Salinas, California in the 50’s and started playing piano in his early teens, influenced by early Rock and Country acts at that time. He met Gene Vincent and Jerry Lee Lewis when he was 15 and started playing piano with Bobby Bare at 16, which led him down a musical path of no return. He played music from Los Angeles to Anchorage in the 60’s, eventually working in Radio and TV for the Midnight Sun Broadcasting Company in 67, bringing Charlie Rich, Ernest Tubb, Bobby Bare and other acts to Juneau and promoting their shows. Moving to Nashville in the early 70’s, he had over a dozen Billboard singles on the Country charts in the late 70’s and early 80’s as an artist and a writer. Bill toured with Tom T. Hall, Bobby Bare, Slim Whitman and others playing piano for thousands of shows and in 1980 started Bill Wence Promotions, working with radio promoting Wanda Jackson, Johnny Rivers, Collin Raye, Jerry Jeff Walker, and a host of other acts for the past 30 years. He’s still works selected dates with Wanda Jackson and Bobby Bare.
