Shea, Rick & The Losin' End, Bound For Trouble

Rick Shea’s emotive guitar playing and haunting vocals are a mainstay of Southern California’s country scene. In addition to playing and recording with stalwarts and legends such as Chris Gaffney, Dave Alvin, Katy Moffatt, and Christy McWilson, he has released three critically acclaimed solo cd’s, an acoustic country-folk cd with fiddler extraordinaire Brantley Kearns and a cd of country duets with the lovely and talented Patty Booker. Guitar Whitey, is a re-mix and re-release of his little-known and rare Sawbones, originally released on AIM/Wagon Wheel in 2000. In addition to the beautifully redone tracks from that lost gem, three bonus tracks are included. From Walter Clevenger’s upcoming tribute to Nick Lowe, there is “Never Been in Love”, a duet with the aforementioned Ms. McWilson. Also included is a live solo recording of Rick’s short story in a song, “West Texas Lawyer”. The third special attraction is Rick’s bar-room standard, “Bound for Trouble”. Rick’s long-time band, The Losin’ End, accompanies him on these fine examples of California Country. Special guests include Dave Alvin, Christy McWilson, David Jackson, Don Heffington, Walter Clevenger and others. Guitar Whitey is a cd that has matured like a fine wine.
