Tate, Howard, Portrait of Howard

Portrait of Howard is Howard Tate's highly anticipated studio follow-up to the Grammy nominated 2003 release Rediscovered. Backed by a 20 piece orchestra, Tate crosses over from his soul roots to put his unmistakable vocal stamp on songs by Randy Newman, Burt Bacharach, Nick Lowe, Chrissie Hynde, Lou Reed, and Carly Bley. (the latter 2 perform on the cd as well!). The cd is an autobiographical journey in song through Tate's tumultuous life and explores the depths of his drug addiction as well as his salvation and new found lease on life offering hope and a prayer to those who may still be out there sick and suffering. Expertly produced and arranged by Steve Weisberg, Portrait is destined to be on the top of this years’ critic's list and break out into mainstream media. This title was previously solicited off-cycle on September 19th.
