George Ensle is a veteran Texas singer-songwriter, who has shared stages with legendary greats Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Billie Joe Shaver. He has won songwriting awards from The American Song Festival, the Kerrville Folk Festival, the Music Umbrella, and the Austin Songwriters Group. In 2008 he was nominated for Singer/Songwriter of the Year by the Texas Music Academy. According to Frets Magazine, Townes Van Zandt named George Ensle as one of his most influential and admired contemporary performers. He has been called a "songpainter," capturing "lifescapes", with storysong portraits of "real people making it in the real world." The title song of George's new release on Berkalin Records, "Build A Bridge", has recently been chosen to represent "The BuildaBridge Healing through the Arts Foundation" as its homepage theme song.
