Adventure Music is celebrating the best of the holiday season with the reissue of Mike Marshall’s solo acoustic guitar recording, Midnight Clear, a collection of twelve holiday classics. Marshall, one of the world’s most acclaimed acoustic artists, originally released Midnight Clear in 1997, on the Acorn label. The twelve selections on Midnight Clear showcase Marshall at his most lyrical and graceful, as he performs such holiday favorites as “We Three Kings,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” and “Oh Hanukah” on his 1966 Martin D-28 acoustic guitar. In the ten years since the CD’s release, Mike Marshall has gone on to explore a variety of musical terrain for Adventure Music, from Brazilian choros to contemporary bluegrass. Marshall is widely acknowledged for his fearless exploits of the varied possibilities of both guitar and mandolin. He was a member of David Grisman’s quintet for five years, and was a founding member of the folk/chamber music group, Montreux and Psychograss.
