Augie Meyers first claim to fame came as the keyboard player for the Sir Douglas Quintet with friend and musical partner Doug Sahm. He was also recently a member of the Texas Tornados before Sahm passed away. Augie Meyers is currently out on the road as a member of John Hammond's band doing Tom Waits songs, something he did in the 70's as part of Waits' touring band. He is one of Texas' true musical treasures.
