Callery, Will, All In Time

“Hands on the Wheel” has always been the spiritual centerpiece of Willie Nelson’s masterwork, Red Headed Stranger. Willie wrote most of that sparse storytelling album on his own, but “Hands on the Wheel” was written by another gifted songwriter, Will Callery. Will was from Kentucky, though there was a Texas independent’s spirit in his unique songs, which had also caught the ear of another Texas legend, leading Jerry Jeff Walker to record “Pot Can’t Call the Kettle Black” and “The First Showboat.” Callery is back to make his own musical statement on SteadyBoy release, All in Time, with personal takes on each of those three songs, along with nine more originals sung by the musical visionary who wrote them.
