On one piano or two, Anthony and Joseph Paratore have electrified audiences all over the world, since capturing first prize in the Munich International Music Competition in 1974. Now, they are proud to bring you the music of Franz Schubert. For all lovers of piano duo, amateur or professional, the music of Schubert has to be a part of their experience. He is clearly the chief contributor to the one piano-four hand literature and has left the music world a great number of important works that pianists everywhere can both enjoy and toil over! Schubert’s output spans his all too short a life from his early to late works. The challenges that face piano duettists are considerable. One has the sense that the keyboard acts as a base for a complete orchestral score and one has to be conscious of this in its execution. Franz Schubert demands the pianists to be sensitive in every way to melody, harmonic modulation, and quality of sound produced as well as a fine sense of balance between the primo and secondo parts.
