Christ Church Cathedral Choir, Indianapolis, George Frideric Handel: Messiah - Highlights from Parts I and II

In August 22, 1741, at a low point in his life and career, and suffering from partial paralysis due to a stroke, George Frideric Handel began work on Messiah. In an incredible 24 days, the great dramatic composer completed perhaps the most powerful, spiritually moving, and popular oratorio of all time. The work is divided into three parts, representing Christ’s prophecy and birth, suffering and death, and ultimate resurrection. Formed in 1883, the Christ Church Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys, Indianapolis under the direction of Frederick Burgomaster has achieved an international reputation for excellence in choral music.
